"Evangelist with a Smile" - Sarah Goodyear
Her focus is on teaching her students sound fundamental technique so they can explore the connection between a person's psyche and physiology. "People can be fragile and they can be strong," says Dail, "but they often take care of their body and their mind last. We become very mechanical in the jobs that we have. The things that we do for ourselves, that fuel our spirits, fuel our souls, and fuel our bodies, too often come after we have taken care of the bank payments and the car and the kids and whatever. So what we do here is try to teach students to look a the whole person. You cannot divorce the mind from the body when you give a person a massage."
The way Dail sees it, massage is part of a holistic approach to health care that is only now being rediscovered by traditional American physicians, to whom she frequently speaks at professional seminars.
